Brendon’s Boardbook by Sheryl Evans
Christmas in July
Write Your Stories
Featured Art: Independent

I decided to do a board book on the first year of my grandson Brendon’s life to give to him on his very first birthday. I chose the board book because I wanted him to be able to look at the book whenever he wanted to without the worry of ripped pages.
I wanted Brendon to always, even years from now, be able to refer back to the book of his very first year and one day share with his children! It was also a great reassurance to me that if something happens to his book along the way, there are ‘no worries’ — it is archived and I can just publish another one for him!.
And now, at just over a year old, Brendon constantly ‘reads’ his book and points to people and animals in the book that he recognizes. He carries it around with him everywhere he goes! And yes, we take pictures of him reading his board book to put in another storybook that is already in progress!
