A Time to Give Thanks

October 25, 2013
by Roxanne Buchholz, Studio Creative Team Manager

Thanksgiving Day is a national holiday celebrated primarily in the United States and Canada as a day of giving thanks for the blessings of the previous year. For many of us, Thanksgiving traditions include feasting, time off work, football games, holiday parades, family reunions and the beginning of our winter holiday celebrations.

We also look for extra ways to share our gratitude with the people who mean the most to us. When we take the time to express our appreciation, especially during the Thanksgiving season, we find that our celebrations are richer and more meaningful!

Heritage Makers would love to assist you in your Thanksgiving preparation! We have dozens of  projects available in our Template Gallery to help you say “thank you” to the people that bless your life and to document your family’s favorite holiday activities. Let’s take a look at some of the possibilities!

September 2013
by Roxanne Buchholz, Studio Creative Team Manager

Our monthly product special for September is a 10% savings on all sizes of scrap pages and 11 x 14 prints. So, to help you get started with your scrap pages this month, we have designed an 8 x 8 gray-scale scrap page named “Sweet Story Design Map,” template 111364, which we gave to all the Studio Creative Team members to play with. We asked them to maintain the same text, photos, and embellishment placements but to select papers, embellishments, and word art of their choice. Some designers went with a traditional route, using flowers and pastel colors, while others chose fresh, geometric patterns and bright colored palettes. If you were to use this design map, what would you do? read more …

Make It a Great Halloween
Halloween is a fun time for family and friends alike to gather, to visit, to share goodies and to fuss over the kids and their costumes. This holiday gets bigger every year with more community events and commercial ventures such as pumpkin patch, corn maze, and spook alley visits being added to the agenda. Put loved ones front and center in your version of the holiday by decorating your home, making personalized treats to give away, and being sure your children have a personalized treat bucket. read more …

Personalized Halloween Buckets
Create a custom bucket to pass candy out on Halloween night or for the kids to take trick or treating or to the “trunk or treat.” Children of all ages love having their name on a colorful Halloween container and it’s also a great way to show off Heritage Makers art and templates. Most buckets have been made in the past using clear plastic “gallon size” pails purchased online or from craft and hobby stores. Recently, you’ve been experimenting with painted buckets and metal containers, buckets and tin cans. Here’s how to make our templates work on any type of container. read more …
