Back to School Photo Contest!

August 4, 2015

It’s that time again to announce our latest Instagram photo contest! To get in the school spirit, the theme and hashtag for the contest this month is #HMback2school. Simply snap a photo of those personalized teacher gifts or fun school artwork around the home, post it on Instagram with the contest hashtag in the caption, and you’re good to go! Starting August 10, one winner will be selected each Monday to win 20 publishing points, and the final winner will be announced Monday, August 31. We will repost the selected photos and winners will be asked to send us their Heritage Makers account information via email.

Below are a couple adorable examples of projects that would be perfect to submit for this contest. The first is an 8×8 soft-bound book and the second is a set of four 3×9 notepads.

Since we’re just randomly selecting the winners, you don’t have to worry about submitting anything fancy – the point of the whole contest is to share ideas and inspire each other! There is no limit to the number of pictures you can submit, but we do ask that if you submit multiple times, make sure each photo showcases different items. You can also check out what other people have submitted by searching #HMback2school on Instagram, and this will bring up all photos posted so far from public profiles with that hashtag.

Remember that if your profile is set to private, we will not be able to see the photos you post, even if they have the contest hashtag #HMback2school in the caption. To participate, you can switch your profile to public or you will need to share your photos directly to the Heritage Makers account. To do this, select your photo to post as you normally would, but when you see the share options, instead of sharing to your followers, tap “direct”, and then you will be able to select our account and send the picture directly to us.

It is also important to note that Instagram was designed to be used on mobile devices, so if you are working from your computer you will not be able to use most features, including posting photos.

We are excited to see all of your fun back to school projects!
