Christmas in July with Anthology DIY

July 19, 2016

Do you ever wonder who started the concept of Christmas in July? Technically, the sixth month mark is in June so why don’t we do Christmas in June? July does sound better. Regardless, we’re taking advantage of this trend with a Christmas in July sale on two Anthology DIY kits – Christmas Wishes Paper Collection and Holiday Nifty Gifties Kit. Both are 40% off until July 31st and if you’re like me, seeing the possibilities sells me every time.

The Christmas Wishes Paper Collection is so versatile – you can use it for scrapbook pages, home decor items, gift wrap, cards, and more. This cute pillow box is a quick way to create a custom gift wrap. The snowman and sentiment are chipboard stickers from the collection. We used the Pillow Box Punch Board to create the box, which is about 4 inches long. The Pillow Box Punch Board lets you create pillow boxes in a variety of sizes – just follow the instructions on the back of the board.

Speaking of layouts, how cute is this one? Using a modified grid makes this a snap to put together, especially when you use accents that are included in the kit. I love when I can create something quickly that also makes me smile as I think back to the memories captured on the layout. Ahhh….

I love making cards, although I need to be better about doing holiday cards. After seeing how beautiful these are and realizing how easy they are to create, I might just get cards done this year. These cards use a simple white card base with a photo. The sentiment uses alphabet stickers found in the collection and they are so cool in person – they shine! Easy and pretty is a winner in my book.

Let’s talk about the Holiday Nifty Gifties Kit. This kit was designed so you could create gift card holders. Brilliant! Now I don’t feel as bad about giving such a generic gift because I wrapped it in a handmade holder. As you can see, there are two color palettes – traditional red with green and wintery light blue with red. The kit includes a little booklet that shows you each card holder style and how to put them together. Plus, they are pre-scored so they come together in minutes! The hardest decision I had was which embellishment to use with each card holder.

But why stop at card holders when there are other things just dying to be created? The kit creates 25 card holders, which makes it perfect for a countdown calendar! Suzy, from our office, created this last year and I love how she hung it on boards. Who wouldn’t love to open an envelope each day for a fun treat or activity to do? I know I would!

This last project was made by Chelsea to show how fun these are on a scrapbook page. Each envelope contains a memory from the person pictured on the front. It’s a great way to include journaling without it taking up tons of space on your layout.

Are your creative wheels turning? I know mine are! Make sure you grab these kits by July 31st so you can make fun Christmas projects.

Have fun creating!
