January 24, 2013

Looking for some ‘refreshing’ inspiration for your upcoming digital scrapbooking projects? Look no further than the cool color trend of 2013—mint! Mint is showing up in a big way in fashion, weddings, and home decor.  This subdued, lighter version of emerald can be combined with a number of great colors.

So how can you incorporate it into your custom books, cards, and other projects?  Here are a few templates to inspire you!

    • This 7 x 5 ‘Best Friend Forever’ Storybook created by Anna Gehmlich showcases the mint trend along with the popular Chevron pattern. The subdued background is the perfect setting for the vivid color palette and details she chose. What friend wouldn’t love to receive a fun, trendy book like this?

    • This 2013 ‘Room to Write’ Calendar created by Darcie Toom uses the color trend as the main focus for this project and incorporates various shades of it into the cover. She left plenty of room to add in dates and notes throughout the year. What a great idea!

    • This 5 x 7 ‘Make Me Laugh’ Card designed by Roxanne Buchholz screams mint! The mustache theme has been popping up everywhere, and the photo booth idea is fun and creative! Wouldn’t your friends and family get a kick out of this? It definitely made us smile!

There are endless ways you can incorporate this trendy color into your custom projects. Try adding a ‘hint of mint’ with backgrounds, borders, embellishments, or whatever else you dream up. The best part is – there is no right or wrong way to use it. Get creative!
