Have you heard about the new Pocket Punches from Our Memories for Life? They fold and lock for easy storage and come in five designs. And the punched piece is about 1 1/2″ to 2″ wide. Pretty sure you’re going to need these! You can buy them today in the Youngevity online shop and next week from the Heritage Makers online shop.
Let’s take a look at the punches and then show you how easy it is to create with them.
Notice the slider on the end of the punch. Slide it to the left and it unlocks so you can punch with it. When done, close the punch and slide it to the right to lock. Also, the punch’s design allows them to stack on each other for easy storage. So you know what to look for, the names of the punches (starting in the upper left corner) are Wild Flower, Tags You’re It, Snowflake Kiss, The Real Seal, and Monarch Butterfly.
Now to the real fun – a project using three of the punches as well as two border design cartridges.
This card was designed by Pam Winn for the Our Memories for Life make and take at the Fall 2015 Summit Memory Keeping Event. She used the Butterfly Lace cartridge (that comes with the Border Maker System) for the front edge. She created the green strip with the Pinking cartridge and threaded it with the cardstock piece she trimmed from the front of the card. She then created the flower by layering cardstock punched with The Real Seal and Wild Flower punches. To create the center of the flower, she adhered pieces punched from the Butterfly Lace border. Finally, she punched cardstock from two colors using the Tags You’re It punch and wrote the sentiment. Isn’t this a fun card! And so easy to recreate.
In case you want to use this card at an upcoming event, you can download the project instructions, which includes the supplies used and instructions to make the card. You can also find this and other project instructions from the Youngevity Resources page under Product Resources for Home & Family.
This card is my interpretation using fall colors. The Creative Cuts cardstock is perfect for making this card. It has a variety of colors, you can cut the 8 1/2 x 11 sheets in half for the card base, and is easy to pick coordinating colors for the accents.
One last thing – several of the original design cartridges for the Border Maker System are back in stock. You’ll want to grab these while you can. Here are the designs now back in stock.
Are you feeling inspired to start punching a few pieces of cardstock? The possibilities are endless depending on how you combine the design cartridges and punches. If you make something, we’d love to see your creation, so share it on our Facebook page.
Have fun creating!
