We are excited to announce our next Instagram photo contest starting today! After the 80 wonderful submissions for our #HMinthehome contest back in March, we are pleased to announce that we will host a new Instagram photo contest every other month.
The theme for this month’s challenge is “Heritage Makers on the go”, with the contest-specific hashtag being #HMonthego. If you have experienced anything similar to the scenarios below, you’re sure to love this contest!
Have you ever…
- shown off a photo album at your family reunion?
- used a set of personalized playing cards on a camping trip?
- brought your favorite mug to the beach house?
- received compliments on a customized phone case or brag bag while you were out and about?
Your Heritage Makers projects are already part of your everyday life! Now, we just want you to snap and share a quick photo of where you are taking these items with you this summer. Brooke Mehr has given us a fabulous example of what to submit by debuting the adorable hipster bag she designed for her family Disneyland trip last month.
There is no limit to the number of pictures you can submit, but we do ask that if you submit multiple times, make sure you are posting separate photos for each different item. The point of each contest is to share the personal projects you have made and to help inspire others! You can also check out what other people have submitted by searching #HMonthego, and this will bring up all photos posted so far from public profiles with that hashtag.
This contest runs throughout the month of June, with one winner being randomly selected to receive 20 publishing points each week, starting next Tuesday, June 9, and finishing on Tuesday, June 30 around noon MDT. That’s four weeks and four chances to win! We will repost the winning photos on our Instagram account and Facebook page each week and the winners will be notified via email.
Remember that if your profile is set to private, we will not be able to see the photos you post, even if they have the contest hashtag #HMonthego in the caption. To participate, you can switch your profile to public or you will need to share your photos directly to the Heritage Makers account. To do this, select your photo to post as you normally would, but when you see the share options, instead of sharing to your followers, tap “direct”, and then you will be able to select our account and send the picture directly to us.
It is also important to note that Instagram was designed to be used on mobile devices, so if you are working from your computer you will not be able to use most features, including posting and searching for photos.
We can’t wait to see what you share, so grab your camera and have some fun!
